Terms of Service ​

1. Acceptance of Terms ​

By accessing or using ChirpIQX ("the Service"), including the documentation site, MCP server, and associated tools, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms").

If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service ​

ChirpIQX is an open-source fantasy hockey intelligence tool that provides:

  • Documentation Site: Educational content about fantasy hockey analytics
  • MCP Server: Model Context Protocol server for AI-assisted fantasy hockey analysis
  • Tools & Integrations: NHL public API access and data analysis utilities

The Service is provided free of charge for personal, non-commercial use.

3. License and Use Rights ​

Open Source License ​

ChirpIQX is released under the MIT License. You are free to:

  • Use the software for any purpose
  • Modify the source code
  • Distribute copies
  • Distribute modified versions

Acceptable Use ​

You agree to use ChirpIQX:

  • ✅ For personal fantasy hockey analysis
  • ✅ For educational and research purposes
  • ✅ In compliance with the terms of any fantasy platform whose information you paste in
  • ✅ Respecting rate limits and API usage guidelines

You agree NOT to use ChirpIQX:

  • ❌ For commercial purposes without permission
  • ❌ To violate the terms of service or API limits of any platform
  • ❌ To scrape excessive data or abuse APIs
  • ❌ To harm, harass, or disadvantage other users
  • ❌ For any illegal activities

4. No Warranties ​

ChirpIQX is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.

We do not guarantee:

  • Accuracy of data, statistics, or recommendations
  • Availability or uptime of the Service
  • Compatibility with your system or setup
  • That the Service will be error-free or secure

Fantasy Hockey Disclaimer: ChirpIQX provides entertainment and analytical tools. Results are not guaranteed. Use insights at your own risk.

5. Limitation of Liability ​

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • ChirpIQX and its contributors are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Service
  • This includes (but is not limited to): lost data, lost fantasy hockey games, incorrect recommendations, or system issues
  • Your use of ChirpIQX is at your sole risk

Fantasy League Disclaimer: We are not responsible if you lose your fantasy hockey league due to following ChirpIQX recommendations. Draft picks, trades, and lineup decisions are your responsibility.

6. Third-Party Services ​

NHL Public API ​

ChirpIQX reads the NHL's publicly available API. No account, key or agreement is required to do so, and no credentials are exchanged.

You are responsible for:

  • Reasonable request volume. ChirpIQX caches aggressively by design, but you remain responsible for how you run it
  • Understanding that the NHL may change or discontinue these endpoints at any time

Information you paste in ​

You may paste roster, opponent or standings information copied from a fantasy platform. You are responsible for ensuring that doing so complies with that platform's terms of service. ChirpIQX does not access, scrape or connect to any fantasy platform on your behalf.

ChirpIQX is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the NHL, or by any fantasy sports platform including Yahoo, ESPN, Sleeper or CBS.

Other Integrations ​

If you integrate ChirpIQX with Claude AI, OpenAI, or other services, you must comply with their respective terms of service.

7. User-Generated Content ​

If you contribute to ChirpIQX (via GitHub, pull requests, issues, discussions):

  • You grant ChirpIQX a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, modify, and distribute your contributions under the MIT License
  • You represent that you have the right to grant this license
  • You agree to the GitHub Terms of Service

8. Privacy ​

Your privacy is important. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we handle information.

Summary: We don't collect personal data. The MCP server runs locally on your machine, holds no credentials of any kind, and the league information you paste in never leaves your device.

9. Modifications to Terms ​

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date.

Significant changes will be announced via:

  • Notice on the homepage
  • GitHub repository announcements

Continued use of ChirpIQX after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

10. Termination ​

You may stop using ChirpIQX at any time by:

  • Deleting the MCP server files from your machine
  • Deleting the .chirp-data/ directory, which holds everything you have pasted in

We reserve the right to discontinue the Service at any time without notice (though we'd hate to do that).

11. Governing Law ​

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Ontario, Canada.

12. Severability ​

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full effect.

13. Entire Agreement ​

These Terms, along with the Privacy Policy and Disclaimer, constitute the entire agreement between you and ChirpIQX.
